Poornima comes from a media background and has done masters in journalism from New Delhi. She has deep interest and knowledge about versatile issues ranging from politics, developmental issues and contemporary social issues of the country. Her hobbies include listening to music especially soft romantic ones and researching on burning social issues like female infanticide, female education etc.

Why Poornima thinks she should become star anchor:
Star news has provided a platform  for the first time in the Indian television history. Since the time I born and understood things around me, I always thought of changing certain negative things in the society but always found myself incapable for that. I have grown up watching news anchors and always wanted to see myself in front of the camera connecting with masses. When I chose this profession and became part of media, I thought now I can bring some revolution in the society aspects and return something to the world. Today, in this fast changing world, media can connect with people and bring awareness and change in their lives. I have strong passion and capability to connect with masses and have deep inner desire to do something  for the issues which are untouched and not yet explored. The only way I can explore and bring change in the society  is, by being part of media and on the platform provided by Star News. I find myself a good human being and want to utilize my skills and finding my passion in my career so that I can enjoy what I do; and do it by heart.
