Chetan Bhagat, Tisca Chopra and Deepak Chaurasia have joined hands with Star News in its search for the best News talent in the country. The trio will be judging candidates from ten cities in India to shortlist future News Anchors for Star Anchor Hunt.
STAR News believes that there is a lot of latent talent in the country and hence would like to provide a platform for aspiring journalists to showcase their talent to the world and be a part of the rich vibrant team of Star News.
Chetan Bhagat is the author of four blockbuster novels, Five Point Someone (2004), One Night @ the Call Center (2005), The 3 Mistakes of life (2008) and 2 states-the story of my marriage (2009). All his books have remained bestsellers since their release and have inspired major Bollywood films.
Tisca Chopra is an actress who has worked in theatre, television and movies. In 2007, she appeared in the much acclaimed Taare Zameen Par with Aamir Khan. She also works with the National Knowledge Commission (NKC), a high level advisory body to the Prime Minister of India, working for educational reforms pan India. Tisca has hosted the National Bravery Awards 2009, the Rajiv Gandhi National Awards 2008 and also a Quiz show on National Geographic Channel for the TERI, called Terraquiz.
Deepak Chaurasia is a well known face of Indian electronic media and is one of the smartest political minds in Indian television who would often offer the most provocative take on the day’s news from the campaign trail and beyond. A Deepak Chaurasia-report validates a story’s importance. Currently he is editor, National affairs with STAR NEWS. For the last two decades he has covered almost all the important events across the world and in every corner of our country. Whether it was Gulf war or post 9/11 coverage or Kargil war, he was there to present the ground report for Indian viewers.
